Super belated Update Day here!

I missed this post by, oh, only eighteen days. I’ve been busy writing. That’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it.

So, with it being almost halfway of March, and halfway to my next Update Day post, I’d like to do a quick update on what my goals were for February, what I accomplished last month, and what goals I’ve set for myself this month.

And if you have time to want to learn more about this blog hop, check out our official website/blog HERE, and say “HELLO” to our wonderful host, authors Misha Gericke and Jen Garrett!

Are you still with me? Down below are the goals I made for February. Check them out!

February 2018 goals:

☀complete first chapter + synopsis package for SYTYCW’s Harlequin Romance Blitz

☀read at least 4 books from TBR pile

*

Reading:

My reading goal was 4 books, and usually I’m super good with reaching this goal (a book/week—not too hard of a task). But I’ve been busy with writing, remember? So, I haven’t gotten around to reading much in February. All I was able to read was this book down below (I got an ARC and I still have to put up a review):

Kasey & Ivy by Alison Hughes is an adorable middle grade title. It releases on March 20, 2018, and if you have a chance to pick it up, please do. Also review! I couldn’t get enough of Kasey. I would have loved her as a friend.

Writing:

I managed to complete my first chapter submission package to Harlequin’s Romance Blitz, and I’m happy to announce that the editors liked it enough to ask for a partial. So I’m about ready to hit SEND on that, and I’ll be continuing with my contemporary category romance until I reach THE END, so *fingers crossed* that if they ask for more, I’ll have the full manuscript ready by then. 🙂

Now onto my March goals. Like I said, we’re almost halfway through this month, but I’d like to see how I fare in the next couple weeks. Without further ado, here’s my…

March 2018 goals:

☀complete partial and send to Harlequin

☀read at least 4 books from TBR pile

*

Reading:

I’d like to read these books especially by the end of March (some of already finished).

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Some people swear by Pride & Prejudice, but I’ve always been a fan of cheeky Henry. 🙂

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett is another classic, and one I’m embarrassed to admit I haven’t read. I watched the movie a few times, and I’m due a re-watch, but I’ve had this book in my shelf for years. And it’s about time I actually read it. So far, I’m loving it. I get why this is a beloved children’s book. ❤

Billionaire, Boss…Bridegroom? by Kate Hardy is another book that has been languishing in my TBR pile for 2 years?! Yeah. Three chapters in and I see why Hardy is a master in romance fiction. It’s too cute! Also, HELLO, fake relationship trope.

Sparking Jewel (Silver Pony Ranch #1) and Sweet Buttercup (Silver Pony Ranch #2) are two titles published by Scholastic Branches (an early chapter book line). It has beautiful illustrations on every page to accompany the text and enhance the reading experience for younger and older readers alike! You’re never too old for a chapter book IMHO.

Writing:

Like I said, I’m almost done with the partial request from Harlequin. I’ll wing it back, and then keep up until I’m done the full. I’m not aiming for any particular word count to close off March. Whatever I get down is a step forward. ^_^

How’s your March been going so far? Anyone entering the A-Z Challenge this year. I’ve decided after two years (or is it three?), I’m sitting this year out. I’m—you guessed it—too busy, and I don’t want to overload myself and then end up getting nothing done.

Cheering you on either way. Let’s chase after our dreams!
